Fine Art & Experimental

Harnessing Imagination.

Liz Jeary (b.1980) is an experimental Fine Art Photographer based on The Wirral, Merseyside.

Having a love for textures, street, fashion and beauty, her contemporary and innovative approach to photography produces results that are indicative of her perspective on life; whimsical and humorous, with a touch of melancholy. Liz works with film and digital photography but puts an emphasis on the photograph as an object by physically manipulating printed images. This is usually in the form of Photobroderie (hand embroidery) but has also involved printing on unexpected surfaces, such as wallpaper, to push the boundary of what is considered a photograph. Influence comes from music, unusual faces and a life-long obsession with birds.

Her work has been published and exhibited nationally and internationally, with sold pieces hanging in 5 continents (her ambition is to have work in all 7). She has recently been accepted into her 25th exhibition opportunity.

Alongside her creative ventures, Liz also works as a Freelance Curator, and a part-time Assistant Manager for Wilkinson Cameras in Liverpool. Returning to education as a mature student in her thirties, Liz received a First Class BA (Hons) degree in Photography from the University of Salford in 2014.
